Music Video: “This Life” by Vampire Weekend

20 May

Okay let’s call it what it is, Father of the Bride, one of the best albums of 2019! Vampire Weekend went ahead and created a masterpiece. First release in six years, re-upped with Ariel Reichstad to produce the record, some slick guest appearances, etc. but what excites me more than anything so far, the music video for “This Life” which was directed by Emmett Malloy!  Also the director for “Harmony Hall!”  Selfishly I’ve loved all the Malloy Brother films (Thicker Than Water and A Brokedown Melody, specifically) and they’ve directed some videos of some legendary songs so not surprising I love this video below. Give a watch and see how they also celebrated Passover in Palm Springs.

10 Jan

In 2013 Vampire Weekend put out in my opinion one of if not the best album of the year, Modern Vampires of the City. How does 2014 start? With a dope remix of “Step” featuring Danny Brown, Heems and Despot. I cannot get enough of this remix, been listening to it nonstop this week and hopefully you do too.

DoYouHearTheMusic.com – Top Tracks of 2013 (well a good amount of them)

2 Dec

Thanksgiving gave me a minute to sit back and have a little fun putting together a Top Tracks of 2013 playlist.  This clearly doesn’t include all of the great music that has filtered our ears this year but it is a collection of music that has been on rotation for me in 2013.   I tried not to duplicate artists (I could have gone on for days with whole albums from the likes of Vampire Weekend, Cayucas, White Denim, Bastille, etc.) so I hope you like this playlist which should keep you going for hours and perfect for some holiday road trips.

Cheers!

Countdown to @LifeIsBeautiful: 10 Days – @VampireWeekend

15 Oct

You can count them on two hands finally, 10 days until Life is Beautiful! I can promise you that if you’ve ever visited downtown Las Vegas, it’s going to look massively different in the next 10 days. I hope you’re as excited as I am. Today we dropped the festival map and schedule, let the planning begin! Also the perfect day to feature one of the bands who’ve put on a couple of the best concerts I’ve seen in 2013, Vampire Weekend.

Countdown to @LifeIsBeautiful: 21 Days – twenty one pilots

4 Oct

Figure now is as best a time as any to start a little countdown to Life is Beautiful. I can’t believe how fast the last year has gone and here we are just three weeks away from the festival kicking off with our Grills & Guitars party with music by Dawes and Todd Rundgren. But in honor of 21 days from the festival, here’s a little music from twenty one pilots who will be performing on October 27. Hope to see you in Downtown Las Vegas and join me for what’s going to be an epic weekend.

Peace + Love + Music
