DoYouHearTheMusic.com – 2016 Top Albums

30 Dec

Another year down, another year filled with great tunes. Below is a list (in alphabetical order) of 50 albums I dug in 2016. Normally I shy away from naming my top album because quite frankly I think there is too much great music that gets released throughout the year but this year is different because to me, A Tribe Called Quest didn’t just shock everyone by announcing and releasing its first album in 18 years, coupled with the loss earlier this year of Phife Dawg but it was the perfect album at the right time when “We The People” needed it. We Got It From Here…Thank You For Your Service is the album of the year and if you haven’t for some reason, dive into it, listen closely. We need more like ATCQ in 2017 and the years to come, there is a purpose to this album, find yours as I found mine. Peace + Love + Music. See you in 2017.

VIDEO: 2013 Life is Beautiful Festival MUSIC Recap

22 Jun

Oh man, just 24 hours from the 2014 Life is Beautiful lineup! I cannot wait to share this year’s lineup with everyone. Each minute we get closer to releasing it the more excited I get. I hope my enthusiasm and love for the talent assembled for year two of the festival is shared by you as well after tomorrow.  I hope that as you watch this video below which recaps the music portion of Life is Beautiful 2013, you get pumped to create a whole new set of beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.

“A music festival is a gathering of a lot of strangers but I must say that music by the end of the night it always makes me feel like I know everybody that I shared that experience with and there’s nothing else in the world that can do that like music.” – Dan Reynolds, Imagine Dragons at Life is Beautiful Festival

Countdown to @LifeIsBeautiful: 21 Days – twenty one pilots

4 Oct

Figure now is as best a time as any to start a little countdown to Life is Beautiful. I can’t believe how fast the last year has gone and here we are just three weeks away from the festival kicking off with our Grills & Guitars party with music by Dawes and Todd Rundgren. But in honor of 21 days from the festival, here’s a little music from twenty one pilots who will be performing on October 27. Hope to see you in Downtown Las Vegas and join me for what’s going to be an epic weekend.

Peace + Love + Music

Figured since I am heading up to Outside Lands in a handful of days, why not put together a little playlist leading up to the festival.  A great lineup awaits and I only have two words, PAUL MCCARTNEY!   I cannot wait to see Sir Paul perform live, this is truly going to be a moment in time where everything else is going on pause for me.

Heading up to Outside Lands as well?  Here are a handful of acts I suggest you make your way to see:

  • twenty one pilots – look up their story when you have time but for now, click HERE
