NEW MUSIC: THE WAR ON DRUGS – “LIVNG PROOF”

19 Jul

Obsessed is the only word I can use to describe my love for “Living Proof,” the new track by The War On Drugs. Its new album  I Don’t Live Here Anymore, is out October 29.

The music video, directed by filmmaker Emmett Malloy was shot on 16mm film at the Panoramic studio in Stinson Beach, California. More words from Pitchfork can be found here. However for me personally to see Emmett Malloy as the director of this video makes it just a masterpiece in my eyes. I was first turned on to the Malloy Brothers from Jack Johnson’s Thicker Than Water documentary back in 2000 and in the last 21 years, Emmett Malloy has established quite the directing catalog.

Now back to TWOD and excited to hear new music, to know the album is coming and for what a yea 2022 is lining up to be; Living Proof!

NOW PLAYING: Alt-J – “In Cold Blood” Baauer Remix

28 Jul

It’s as if this remix was crafted just for me! Who am I kidding?! But really this was a pleasant surprise to wake up to on Friday morning, Alt-J x Baauer! One of the best bands out there today and the perfect DJ/producer to remix “In Cold Blood” and quite candidly the one of the only DJs who could get me to go to a nightclub these days.  Give a listen and happy Friday!

#RIPChrisCornell

18 May

Bummer to wake up to the news that Chris Cornell has passed away. He was 52.

I should be posting a Soundgarden track but man, I always hoped for an Audioslave reunion. Wishful thinking….

VIDEO: “Give Peace A Chance” – Sir Paul McCartney and Neil Young say so! #DesertTrip

9 Oct

Desert Trip, Oldchella, Retirement community of the year, whatever you want to call it, it’s magical and being able to experience it with my family is priceless and amazing. Watching other families like ours enjoying the weekend is so joyous I only wish everyone had the opportunity. Seriously if you can make it next week, get online, buy tickets and be in Indio, it’s worth every moment.

Day two was a memorable one for the books! Neil Young and Promise of the Real delivered an incredible and rocking set to kickstart the night; Sir Paul McCartney as he always does, dazzled the crowd with his insane catalog of hits, production any artist would die for and of course his graceful ways with the crowd. However last night amid the smiles grinning from ear to ear during the second day of Desert Trip, the most powerful moment came when Sir Paul welcomed Neil Young to the stage. Together they rocked “A Day In The Life” into “Give Peace A Chance” which became a 75,000+ singalong in unison. If an Englishman and a Canadian can stand on stage and deliver this message to 75,000 people from all over the world, it’s our duty (and should be our honor) to continue to spread this message not only across the United States from sea to shining sea but to each and every person we touch. Believe in PEACE, seek PEACE, give PEACE a chance!

PEACE + LOVE + MUSIC
