Las Vegas Live Music Venues – 944 Magazine April 2011

18 Apr

Recently I was presented with an amazing opportunity and was asked to write a feature on Live Music Venues in Las Vegas for 944 Magazine.  Below is the four page story which ran in the April issue, highlighting five of the top venues in town as well as a side bar with a handful of other places to check out live music.  If you want to view the digital version, click HERE and go to page 76.

Big thank you to everyone for the support of my blog because without it, I wouldn’t have had the chance to turn my hobby into something more and end up writing a feature story for a magazine.

Cheers!

Craig

Wolfgang Gartner – “Forever” ft. will.i.am and “Space Junk”

14 Apr

Hellooooo Thursday!

One of my favorite DJs, Wolfgang Gartner is back with a new track “Forever” featuring will.i.am. Give a listen, track officially drops on April 26.

Also what I’m really excited about and can’t believe I’ve been neglecting this for the last couple of months is Wolfgang’s track “Space Junk,” which is easily going to be one of the songs of the summer.

Video: Chris Consentino Cooks To A Ben Harper Song

Check out this short video of Chef Chris Cosentino who recently created a menu based on Ben Harper’s song “Number With No Name.”  Wicked cool stuff.

Now Playing: Anthony B – Rasta Love

12 Apr

So much good music out these days but I can’t stop listening to Anthony B and his new album Rasta Love. The disc features guest spots by Peter Tosh and Gyptian among others. Here’s one of my favorite tracks off the album “My Yes & My No.”  I can’t wait to catch him at Bonnaroo in June!

New Music Tuesday: Paul Simon, Brett Dennen, Foo Fighters, Alison Krause, TV On The Radio and more

It’s no secret, I love and live for new music Tuesday.  Today may be a monumental one as many well known artists put out highly anticipated albums.  Paul Simon puts out some of his best work with So Beautiful or So What, Brett Dennen drops Loverboy with killer tracks including “Sydney (I’ll Come Running) and “Comeback Kid,” Alison Krause gets back together with Union Station to release Paper Airplane, the Foo Fighters return with Wasted Light and TV On The Radio release Nine Types Of Light. Revisited in Photos: Marina and the Diamonds – 4 8 11 – Las Vegas

11 Apr

Marina and the Diamonds were the latest to take their act to Book & Stage in Las Vegas. Here are some images I snapped from the show on April 8. Not exactly the best photos I’ve ever taken but it was a little tough to capture Marina as she was a ball of energy jumping around nonstop. Besides having what seemed to be an unlimited tank of energy, she has an incredible voice and is a heck of a performer. If you have the chance to see her live, don’t miss it.

Now Playing: Brett Dennen – “Comeback Kid”

8 Apr

Cannot wait for his new album to drop next week. Give a listen to another one of the tracks, “Comeback Kid.” If you haven’t had a chance to hear “Sydney (I’ll Come Running)” check out our post from January HERE.
