I’m very happy and proud to share with you the 2015 Life is Beautiful Festival lineup! We released the lineup earlier this week and the feedback has been tremendous. I truly hope you like this year’s collection and find both artists you love and artists to discover. While putting together the lineup I usually go a bit silent on DoYouHearTheMusic.com but now I’m ready to unleash a fury of new music for your ears, get some posts up of some of the baby bands on the Life is Beautiful lineup and a whole bunch of other fun things!
Tickets to Life is Beautiful are on sale now! I hope ou pick up a pair and make plans to head to Downtown Las Vegas for what is going to be an amazing weekend of peace, love and music!
I lost track of how many shows I’ve seen this year. Needless to say that it was a lot over the past 365 days and I’m not even done yet! Closing out 2013 with oh sweet music but before then, here are ten of my favorite concerts from the past year (including festival shows).
10. Two Gallants at Beauty Bar (June 8, Las Vegas)
9. Allen Stone at Bottle Rock (May 11, Napa)
8. Madeon at EDC (June 21, Las Vegas)
7. Phoenix at Outside Lands (August 11, San Francisco)
6. The Black Crowes at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (December 14, San Francisco)
5. The Killers at Life is Beautiful (October 27, Las Vegas)
4. Chvrches at Hype Hotel at SXSW (March 14, Austin)
3. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros at BLVD Pool (August 1, Las Vegas)
2. Vampire Weekend at Life is Beautiful (October 27, Las Vegas)
Thanksgiving gave me a minute to sit back and have a little fun putting together a Top Tracks of 2013 playlist. This clearly doesn’t include all of the great music that has filtered our ears this year but it is a collection of music that has been on rotation for me in 2013. I tried not to duplicate artists (I could have gone on for days with whole albums from the likes of Vampire Weekend, Cayucas, White Denim, Bastille, etc.) so I hope you like this playlist which should keep you going for hours and perfect for some holiday road trips.
I’m missing the first day of BottleRock Napa Valley today but stoked to be heading up to Napa tomorrow morning with my brother to catch a couple days of the first year, four-day festival. A stacked lineup, plenty of great food and wine in addition to plenty of friends making the trek should make for a fun weekend.
Tomorrow it’s all about The Black Keys, The Shins, Alabama Shakes, Vintage Trouble, The Flaming Lips, Dirty Projectors, Andrew Bird, Matt Nathanson, Blues Traveler and more. Saturday is definitely a power packed day/night of music with Kings of Leon, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Iron & Wine, Jackson Browne, Jane’s Addiction, Donavon Frankenreiter, Allen Stone, Dwight Yoakam, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Sharon Van Etten and more! Sunday brings it with Zac Brown Band, Michael Franti, Grouplove, Cake, Mavis Staples, Train, The Wallflowers, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Brandi Carlile and more.
