Who doesn’t like fun.? Seriously how can you not, especially my AZ peeps who loved The Format back in the day. Here’s one more reason to love fun., their new track “We Are Young” featuring the insanely talented Janelle Monae.  I heard them perform this the last show I attended but damn does it sound great now.

Video: Young The Giant – “My Body” at Austin City Limits

19 Sep

All I could think while watching the online stream of Young The Giant performing at ACL was, damn I wish I was there.  Wow, what a performance and crowd for the now it rockers.  Big congrats to them for making it big and drawing an insanely huge crowd that now knows how much fun their live shows are.  I’ve been lucky to see them in an intimate setting (Book & Stage at Cosmopolitan in Vegas) and a massive setting (main stage at Lollapalooza) and both have been solid, energetic shows.  Now I just  can’t wait until the next time I get to see them live.

If you missed the online stream, check out this video of YTG performing “My Body.”

New Music: Childish Gambino – “Bonfire”

19 Sep

He was one of my favorite performers at Bonnaroo and now that he just signed to Glassnote Records, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover is already dropping some new tracks.  Give a listen to “Bonfire” and hear for yourself.  Also I don’t know if it’s just me but at times the beat sounds like Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot.” Can’t wait for the album!
