Quite a list of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees up for induction in 2012. Secretly I’m hoping for the Beastie Boys, RHCP, The Cure, Eric B &Rakim and seriously Donna Summer. Plus how can Freddie King not be in already I’m mean:
The nominees are:
- Joan Jett and The Blackhearts

In case you missed it last night, click HERE to check out GROUPLOVE deliver a rocking performance of “Colours” on Conan last night. Go grab their debut album Never Trust A Happy Song and if you have a chance to see them live, DO IT. You can thank me later.
Who doesn’t like fun.? Seriously how can you not, especially my AZ peeps who loved The Format back in the day. Here’s one more reason to love fun., their new track “We Are Young” featuring the insanely talented Janelle Monae. I heard them perform this the last show I attended but damn does it sound great now.
New discovery for me, The Cinema and their debut disc My Blood Is Full Of Airplanes which dropped last week. Still getting into the album but so far so good. Give a listen to “Kill It” and decide for yourself.
All I could think while watching the online stream of Young The Giant performing at ACL was, damn I wish I was there. Wow, what a performance and crowd for the now it rockers. Big congrats to them for making it big and drawing an insanely huge crowd that now knows how much fun their live shows are. I’ve been lucky to see them in an intimate setting (Book & Stage at Cosmopolitan in Vegas) and a massive setting (main stage at Lollapalooza) and both have been solid, energetic shows. Now I just can’t wait until the next time I get to see them live.
If you missed the online stream, check out this video of YTG performing “My Body.”
He was one of my favorite performers at Bonnaroo and now that he just signed to Glassnote Records, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover is already dropping some new tracks. Give a listen to “Bonfire” and hear for yourself. Also I don’t know if it’s just me but at times the beat sounds like Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot.” Can’t wait for the album!
