Music Video: “This Life” by Vampire Weekend

20 May

Okay let’s call it what it is, Father of the Bride, one of the best albums of 2019! Vampire Weekend went ahead and created a masterpiece. First release in six years, re-upped with Ariel Reichstad to produce the record, some slick guest appearances, etc. but what excites me more than anything so far, the music video for “This Life” which was directed by Emmett Malloy!  Also the director for “Harmony Hall!”  Selfishly I’ve loved all the Malloy Brother films (Thicker Than Water and A Brokedown Melody, specifically) and they’ve directed some videos of some legendary songs so not surprising I love this video below. Give a watch and see how they also celebrated Passover in Palm Springs.

#RIP Gregg Allman

27 May

Man, hearing the news of Gregg Allman passing, this one stings way too much. On a personal note ABB is one of my favorite bands of all time. Never saw them enough but boy did I see Gregg Allman every chance I got. Of course you knew the health complications, the constant rumors, etc. but to many he was immortal and that musician who kept on fighting to play another show. But hey you know what, I bet Duane is the happiest up above right now, reunited with his Brother. Thanks for the memories, now it’s time to eat a peach and crank it up. We’ll raise a glass or 7 and listen to ABB wishing I was at that concert going on up above.
