New Music Tuesday: Imagine Dragons, Steve Earle, Elle King, José González, Phosphorescent

17 Feb

What’s not to love about New Music Tuesday?! Today brings a whole heap of new music and much to be excited about. As a Las Vegan, it’s a big day as Imagine Dragons with the release of Smoke+Mirrors, the long anticipated follow-up to Night Visions. Crazy to think of just a handful of years ago seeing them perform in front of tiny crowds and now rocking to thousands. Also out today, I’m excited about a new one from Steve Earle with the release of Terraplane, one of my latest obsessions of the last year, Elle King, releases her debut album, Love Stuff, Jose Gonzalez returns with Vestiges & Claws and a live album to snatch up, PhosphorescentLive at the Music Hall.

New Music: Passion Pit – “Lifted Up (1985)”

16 Feb

One of the albums I’m most excited about in 2015 is Kindred from Passion Pit and today the band released the single “Lifted Up (1985).” As a follow-up to the acclaimed albums Gossamer and Manners, Kindred will be released on April 21 with heavy anticipation from starving fans.  Plus the band begins touring next month playing a handful of festivals and what I suspect will soon follow, an announcement for a summer/fall tour too.
