Coachella 2016 lineup is here

Late Monday night Coachella dropped its 2016 lineup. With Guns n’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem as headliners (and both reuniting) leaked early on, the anticipation was only building for the remainder of the lineup. My hats off to the Goldenvoice team for putting together yet another massive lineup for music fans to salivate at. This year is clearly very dance heavy (as expected) and obviously there is going to be more electro(nic) incorporated into the Coachella Stage and Outdoor Theater stage. Also with Calvin Harris drawing the largest crowd in Coachella Stage history in 2014 it’s no surprise to see him headlining as well this year. I’ll get to may favorite small line artists below but I think the most interesting part of the lineup is at the bottom which states “DESPACIO All Weekend Long;” and should get every LCD Soundsystem (and music) fan excited because if you aren’t familiar, DESPACIO is a side project of James Murphy and 2manydjs! It’s so rad, see for yourself, HERE.

The top line artists speak for themselves but let’s get into the fun stuff, discovery. Here are my quick hits to the artists you may not know but should by April. If I had to name just one of the below for your to really get lost in, Gallant. Oh baby!

NEW ARTIST ADDITIONS to Life is Beautiful Festival

This morning we announced six new artist additions to the Life is Beautiful Festival 2014 lineup! Stoked to keep making this lineup stronger with the additions of Little Dragon, Baauer, Kimbra, Nahko and Medicine For The People, Echosmith and Bear Hands!

Little Dragon – have never played Las Vegas

Baauer – throws down some of the best DJ sets I’ve ever experienced at festivals let alone quickly becoming one of the best nightclub DJs around

Kimbra – is back after close to a three year absence where she was working on her new album The Golden Echo which drops August 19. Her new single, “Miracle” just dropped and Life is Beautiful is her only festival this year

Nahko and Medicine For The People – get ready to get a little spiritual and dance away with these Portlandians

Echosmith – if you haven’t listened to the song, “Cool Kids” I sure hope you know all the lyrics by October

Bear Hands – oh baby, this is going to be a great show. Check out their latest single “Agora”

I hope my enthusiasm and love for the talent assembled for year two of the festival is shared by you as well after tomorrow. At the beginning of June we released the initial lineup for Life is Beautiful; The Killers, Kings of Leon, Beck, Imagine Dragons, Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Jurassic 5 and a whole lot more. But what we also promised was more artists would be announced and thus here we are. Today we announced the additions of Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, Janelle Monae, Cults, Joey Bada$$, Smith Westerns, Nico Vega, The Dig, Dreamers as well as the first details of a collaboration with Red Bull Sound Select to feature artists Wildcat! Wildcat!, Chancellor Warhol, The Kingston Springs, Children of the Night and Tink. If you haven’t yet checked out the brand new Red Bull Sound Select, you need to get on that like yesterday. So many great artists and an incredible platform for them to blossom through. As for Life is Beautiful, I hope y’all like the lineup and that I will see you October 26-27 in Downtown Las Vegas for an incredible two days! More details to come (soon) but in the meantime, how about a little dance party to get this Tuesday going from Ms. Janelle Monae.
