It’s as if this remix was crafted just for me! Who am I kidding?! But really this was a pleasant surprise to wake up to on Friday morning, Alt-J x Baauer! One of the best bands out there today and the perfect DJ/producer to remix “In Cold Blood” and quite candidly the one of the only DJs who could get me to go to a nightclub these days. Give a listen and happy Friday!
Wake up! It’s time to get funky with this new track from GRiZ titled “Can’t Hold Me Down” featuring Tash Neal of The London Souls. “Can’t Hold Me Down” will appear on GRiZ’s new album Good Will Prevail, due out September 23rd on All Good Records.
Yes, Missy Elliot revived her career in the public eye when she performed on the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year with Katy Perry. Now “Misdemeanor” is back with her first new track in years with WTF (Where They From) ft. Pharrell Williams. So pumped for what’s to come!
#MusicMonday! And here’s an EP you need to be listening to as you get this Monday work flow going. Last Friday LÉON released her debut EP, TREASURE, via Spotify and while you may have heard “Tired of Talking” earlier this year, give a listen to the title track and discover how great this Swedish sensation is. Star in the making for sure with her sweet voice and uptempo beats that everyone can get behind and want to dance to.
Now that the festival has passed I am digging back into the internet for some new tunes and some possible artists for next year’s lineup. But, before I start posting like a wild fire, I’m even more excited for this collaboration featuring 2013 Life is Beautiful performer Joey Bada$$ and 2015 LIBers Glass Animals. I never would have seen this coming but I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised either after learning the artists had gotten together back in 2012. Fast forward a few years and voila! It’s got those funky, psychedelic beats of Glass Animals lingering at the beginning of the track but layered on top is a ferocious Joey Bada$$ with some beats that remind me of back in the day Timbaland. All I’m saying is give a listen and put on repeat.
The first time I ever saw Kygo live there were maybe 50 people there and he was opening for Dash Berlin (I’m still confused by this). Fast forward 18 months and Kygo has quickly become a festival favorite all across the globe. And just over two weeks from now he’ll take the stage in Downtown Las Vegas during Life is Beautiful for a BIG set. If you’ve never seen him live and worried that his chilled out, island-vibe house music will be a bit too mellow, don’t be. You’ll be dancing and singing along the entire time.
Plus you gotta be there to hear his new release “Here For You” ft. Ella Henderson. This is going to be a smash hit and Ella Henderson is a star in the making.
Crank it up and give a listen to “Omen,” another new track from Disclosure and featuring Sam Smith. The track will appear on Caracal, the sophomore album from the Lawrence Brothers which drops September 25th.
Happy New Music Tuesday! Here’s twenty one pilots’ music video for “Stressed Out” from the upcoming release, Blurryface, due out May 19th on Fueled By Ramen. In just 12 hours the video has already amassed over 200,000 views.
Life in Film. You’re going to want to get to know this English quartet. While they’ve been a group for a handful of years, they just recently made it stateside with their contagious song “Get Closer.” And now you can also open your ears to “Alleyway” which will grow on you and have on repeat all day. Ironically their first US tour dates started last week as they lend support to The Wombats. Grab the full slew of dates HERE.
