While many things are not right currently around the world, one thing certainly is, music is the healing force and the universal language. We are in store for a massive year of new music and yours truly just got a bit giddy about this new one from Jamiroquai, yes, Jamiroquai with “Automaton.”
The long awaited is finally here! Click below and give a listen to new music from Arcade Fire with “I Give You Power.” More words from Consequence of Sound can be found HERE.
For all of us who grew up listening to A Tribe Called Quest, last Friday was like winning the lottery with the first new album in 18 years (RIP Phife). How it went down (read it here), the timing, etc. all aligned at the right moment. Don’t believe me? Have you listened to the album?! Plus Pitchfork just gave it a 9.0! Now comes the first music video for the lead single, “We The People…”
Whoops, guess I forgot to hit publish last week! Days late but what’s important is: Welcome back The xx and thanks for bringing an upbeat, bright sound this time around. Click play and give a listen to “On Hold,” the first single released off the forthcoming I See You due out January 13. More words HERE from NPR.
Sadly the list in 2016 continues to grow as over the weekend Leon Russell bid us farewell. You can read words from the New York Times, here. Time to dig in, crank it up and hit play. If you’re unfamiliar, get familiar because they sure don’t make them like this anymore.
Desert Trip, Oldchella, Retirement community of the year, whatever you want to call it, it’s magical and being able to experience it with my family is priceless and amazing. Watching other families like ours enjoying the weekend is so joyous I only wish everyone had the opportunity. Seriously if you can make it next week, get online, buy tickets and be in Indio, it’s worth every moment.
Day two was a memorable one for the books! Neil Young and Promise of the Real delivered an incredible and rocking set to kickstart the night; Sir Paul McCartney as he always does, dazzled the crowd with his insane catalog of hits, production any artist would die for and of course his graceful ways with the crowd. However last night amid the smiles grinning from ear to ear during the second day of Desert Trip, the most powerful moment came when Sir Paul welcomed Neil Young to the stage. Together they rocked “A Day In The Life” into “Give Peace A Chance” which became a 75,000+ singalong in unison. If an Englishman and a Canadian can stand on stage and deliver this message to 75,000 people from all over the world, it’s our duty (and should be our honor) to continue to spread this message not only across the United States from sea to shining sea but to each and every person we touch. Believe in PEACE, seek PEACE, give PEACE a chance!
PEACE + LOVE + MUSIC
and made this!
