DoYouHearTheMusic.com – September 2015 Playlist

1 Sep

WHOA! September is here! Where have the first 8 months of 2015 gone. In honor of us heading into the fall season and with Labor Day Weekend just a handful of days away, here’s a new playlist for you to dive into! Once again it has a little bit of everything, bands you know like Tame Impala, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and Halsey to current buzz act Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and Australian wonder Meg Mac. Hope you dig this month’s mix and find some new music to love and rock out to.

Peace + Love + Music

Now Playing: POND – “Elvis’ Flaming Star”

5 Jan

I’m beyond stoked for the new album from POND, Man, It Feels Like Space Again to be released later this month. Not familiar with this band from Down Under? Here’s a few reasons why you should make yourself:

  1. It consists of Jay Watson of Tame Impala and former Tame Impala touring member Nick Allbrook
  2. Kevin Parker aka Tame Impala played drums on one of POND’s albums
  3. You probably guessed it, their sound is psychedelic rock

So basically if you dig Tame Impala, you’re going to be loving POND.

Now on to the music. Give a listen to “Elvis’ Flaming Star” the lead single off the upcoming album. Hope you enjoy!

New Music: Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars – “Uptown Funk!”

11 Nov

Dad! I know you’re reading this post so you have to listen to this track! Instantly thought of you when I first heard this.

Anyone who know me understands what a huge Mark Ronson fan I am (if you think he’s an incredible musician/producer you should hear one of his DJ sets) and while yesterday I posted his latest single “Daffodils” ft. Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, this track, “Uptown Funk!” ft. Bruno Mars is getting me so much more excited for the album Uptown Special to be released on January 27.

Thanks Consequence of Sound for sharing this gem off the upcoming Mark Ronson album Uptown Special. Click HERE to listen to “Daffodils” featuring Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. I can’t wait for Uptown Special to drop on January 27 which features a slew of appearance by well known musicians including Hudson Mohawke and Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow).
