Now Playing: Big Gigantic “The Night Is Young” ft. Cherub

5 Feb

Play. Repeat. Play. Repeat. Give a listen to this new track from Big Gigantic featuring Cherub, “The Night Is Young.” Their new album which bares the same name drops February 11. If you’ve ever seen Big G live, you know how amazing these guys are live and I can’t wait to see them perform this track at Brooklyn Bowl here in Vegas and out at Coachella! And hopefully you caught them at Life is Beautiful in 2013!

Now Playing: Prides – “The Seeds You Sow”

Got turned onto Prides early last year by their hometown mates, Chvrches, and definitely looking forward to seeing them at SXSW in a couple months. On the heels of their EP being released in March, here’s the title track, “The Seeds You Sow.”

DoYouHearTheMusic.com – Top 10 Albums of 2013

27 Dec

Now this was a challenge for me because like the Top Songs of 2013, it was hard to narrow it down.  Below are a selection of albums I was really into this past year (really got into the Mikal Cronin, King Krule and Blood Orange albums later in the year) but I will say that Vampire Weekend’s – Modern Vampires of the City was hands down my top album of the year.  From start to finish I just can’t get enough of it.

10a. Mikal Cronin – MCII

10b. Haim – Days Are Gone

9. King Krule – 6 Feet Beneath The Moon

8. Arctic Monkeys – AM

7. AlunaGeorge – Body Music

6. Disclosure – Settle

5. Phosphorescent – Muchacho

4. Blood Orange – Cupid Deluxe

3. Chvrches – The Bones of What You Believe

2. Phoenix – Entertainment

1. Vampire Weekend – Modern Vampires of the City

DoYouHearTheMusic.com – Top Tracks of 2013 (well a good amount of them)

2 Dec

Thanksgiving gave me a minute to sit back and have a little fun putting together a Top Tracks of 2013 playlist.  This clearly doesn’t include all of the great music that has filtered our ears this year but it is a collection of music that has been on rotation for me in 2013.   I tried not to duplicate artists (I could have gone on for days with whole albums from the likes of Vampire Weekend, Cayucas, White Denim, Bastille, etc.) so I hope you like this playlist which should keep you going for hours and perfect for some holiday road trips.

Cheers!
