My latest in new music obsession comes courtesy of the Max McElligott led Wolf Gang. The British symphonic rock band released their debut album Suego Faults over the summer and have already toured with Florence + The Machine and Miike Snow as well as opened for The Killers this past summer. Give a listen to “The King and All of His Men” and you’ll most likely have this on your fall/winter playlist.
Fresh new from Captain Cuts, “Dancing With Avicii” – Avicii vs. The Knocks remix . Back in August I put up their hot remix of Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks.” How does this one compare? Give a listen and see…
New music Tuesday is here and a couple VERY notable releases. Florence + The Machine’s sophomore effort, Ceremonials is out as is a disc featuring two legends in music, Lou Reed and Metallica with the release of Lulu.
Back in May I couldn’t get enough of his “Raise Your Weapon” remix, in July he dropped his “Pop Culture’ mash-up and now comes Part 1 of a trailer he uploaded a little over a week ago. Let the legend of Madeon continue to grow.
The Ting Tings, kind of fell off the radar a little as of late but don’t worry, they’re back and here’s a video for “Hang It Up,” the second track (first was “Hands”) off their yet untitled sophomore release due out eventually.
Pretty excited that today marked the release of Room To Run, the debut album from States. Definitely looking forward to giving the record a few spins over the next days but so far totally digging Mindy White’s vocals and the track “As Good As It Gets.” The rock outfit is sort of a hybrid of two bands consisting of White (formerly of the band Lydia) and three members from the band, Copeland.
Thanks to a couple of friends I was turned on to Allen Stone, a really great up-and-coming soul singer. Just last week he released his self-titled record (his second full length disc) and wow, he has a sensational voice. I’ve had the album on repeat the entire day and I’m still loving what I’m hearing. Below is a video for “Say So,” which right now is my favorite track on the record.
If you are a fan of Stevie Wonder, James Morrison, Raphael Saadiq, Ryan Shaw, Matt Nathanson, Matt White, Matt Wertz and similar artists, you will definitely dig Allen Stone.
Added bonus, pick it up on iTunes for $5.99 right now.
