The countdown to Life is Beautiful rolls on as we enter the holiday weekend. I hope by now as “Rebel Heart” gets more and more spins per week on radio that you’ve had a chance to listen to up and coming LA rockers, The Shelters. Personally I cannot wait for them to take the stage at Life is Beautiful and if you are a fan of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, you are going to LOVE these guys.
Vegas, time to wake up, set your alarm and make sure you get tickets to see the man, Ray LaMontagne, on September 16 at the Pearl at Palms. Normally I wouldn’t be this excited about a show (okay, who are we kidding, I freaking love Ray LaMontagne) but this one is going to be a special one as LaMontagne will be joined by his backing band consisting of Tommy Blankenship, Carl Broemel, Bo Koster, and Patrick Hallahan … aka the gents from My Morning Jacket (another band I love) minus Jim James. As a music fan you have to be salivating at the prospect of what this show will be like! Add in that the Pearl’s acoustics are off the charts amazing and that this is a big underplay and you have something special. Tickets go on-sale Friday, March 4th at noon.
This is simply awesome. 1000 musicians play “Learn to Fly” by the Foo Fighters in an attempt to get the band to travel to Cesena, Italy for a concert. And, it worked. Video is below and Dave Grohl’s reaction can be found HERE via Consequence of Sound.
Man Man – “Head On.” I was trying to save this for the August playlist but thanks to my buddy, DJ M!keattack we’re gonna put it up as the song of the day. This song has been stuck in my head and on repeat for the past two weeks. I just can’t get enough. Have you heard?
Martin Solveig dropped “The Night Out” which Madeon then remixed and in turn, Martin Solveig has now taken that remix and recorded the version with a live band! Simply AMAZING. Listen for yourself. Big shout out to my friend Natalie for peeping this first.
Ok Vegas, here is your reminder so you can’t say “I didn’t know” and miss an incredible show. Tonight make your way to Book & Stage at The Cosmopolitan where GROUPLOVE will be performing at 10 p.m. and midnight. Fresh off the release of their debut album, Never Trust A Happy Song, this quintuplet is a band you’re going to want to say you saw way back when. These guys were my highlight of Lollapalooza, blowing me away more than their EP I had been listening to on repeat all summer. Not only do they have a great sound but their story is damn cool too. Check out what I wrote back in June for the skinny on the band.
So let’s recap, GROUPLOVE performing for FREE tonight (and tomorrow) at Book & Stage inside The Cosmopolitan at 10 p.m. and midnight. Got it? Good. See you there!
Pretty excited that today marked the release of Room To Run, the debut album from States. Definitely looking forward to giving the record a few spins over the next days but so far totally digging Mindy White’s vocals and the track “As Good As It Gets.” The rock outfit is sort of a hybrid of two bands consisting of White (formerly of the band Lydia) and three members from the band, Copeland.
Hands down one of the best marching band performances I have seen. Love that the Ohio University Marching Band performed their rendition of LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” at halftime of the recent football game. Genius and entertaining!
Awww yeah, looking forward to an exciting night ahead as Furthur rolls into town for what will be a fun filled evening of music at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel. After jamming Red Rocks in Colorado for three nights last week, we shall soon see what the fellas have up their sleeves for tonight’s shindig. It has been a little over a year since Furthur last graced the stage at The Joint and if it’s anything like that show, tonight should be another special one. Curtain goes up at 8 p.m.
