In one week, The Killers will take the stage for the final performance of the inaugural Life is Beautiful Festival! Quite fitting, don’t you think? The hometown rockers will play for their largest Las Vegas crowd and I sure can’t wait to feel the energy and be a part of this memorable moment.

19 OctSo exactly one week from now the gates will swing open, fans will rush in and the inaugural Life is Beautiful Festival will be underway. The excitement is building, the footprint is really taking shape and today our main stage will start to be assembled! And next Saturday night, Kings of Leon will mark their return to Las Vegas and take the stage as our Saturday headliner! So come one, come all and join our family tree!

18 AugHere’s the deal. My music blog started as a way to just write about and share music with my friends. Quickly it took off in a strange but amazing way and became a part of my every day life. Little did I know how many of my friends also shared the passion of music and writing which brings me to my buddy, Taj (the original tour manager!). I can’t even begin to tell you about how many concerts and music moments we’ve had in this crazy place we reside, Las Vegas. Taj is probably the biggest music aficionado I know and this summer he got linked up with some of his friends from North Carolina who own and operate a menswear/lifestyle site, Ole Mason Jar. He became their resident blogger and this summer documented many musical moments here in Sin City. So perfect for the individual Taj is. 2 AugIt is the universal language. It unites people. It makes people forgive, forget, heal, rejoice, smile, etc. It’s a part of why I believe the festival culture in America is so coveted now. You name it and music really can be the most powerful thing we have. And I challenge anyone to find a band out there today that better epitomizes spreading joy and happiness than Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. Last night in Vegas I had the chance to once again see the band in concert but this was the first time out of a festival setting. What I can tell you is there was not one person in the crowd without a smile on their face. Last night was truly an example of how powerful music can be and put a positive influence on people, even if only for that evening. What Alex Ebert and crew do is a sheer masterpiece. They make the crowd feel as one with the band, radiate positivity and bring a crowd of strangers together. #ThatsWhatsUp.
Add in spending the evening and experiencing the concert with some great friends and there’s not much more that could have made a Thursday night much better.

30 JulAt the beginning of June we released the initial lineup for Life is Beautiful; The Killers, Kings of Leon, Beck, Imagine Dragons, Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Jurassic 5 and a whole lot more. But what we also promised was more artists would be announced and thus here we are. Today we announced the additions of Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, Janelle Monae, Cults, Joey Bada$$, Smith Westerns, Nico Vega, The Dig, Dreamers as well as the first details of a collaboration with Red Bull Sound Select to feature artists Wildcat! Wildcat!, Chancellor Warhol, The Kingston Springs, Children of the Night and Tink. If you haven’t yet checked out the brand new Red Bull Sound Select, you need to get on that like yesterday. So many great artists and an incredible platform for them to blossom through. As for Life is Beautiful, I hope y’all like the lineup and that I will see you October 26-27 in Downtown Las Vegas for an incredible two days! More details to come (soon) but in the meantime, how about a little dance party to get this Tuesday going from Ms. Janelle Monae.
