Five For Friday: @RRTFB, Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel, #DMB, @MumfordOfficial & more

21 Sep

Late night edition.

  1. Robert Randolph once again rocked the house last night at Vinyl inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas.  Look out for my show review in the 9.27 issue of Vegas SEVEN.
  2. Keeping on the Hard Rock and Vinyl, besides The Smith Center, I think the best sounding room in Vegas may be the brand new, intimate venue.  Definitely looking forward to catching more shows at Vinyl.
  3. Still find myself listening to the DMB Away From The World disc nonstop.  Can’t get enough, it keep bringing me back to the great years.  Thank you Steve Lillywhite.
  4. New Music Tuesday is going to be a great one as Mumford & Sons drop Babel! But before that, tune into Saturday Night Live!
  5. Get ready for a fun, fun, fun post of My New Music next week.  All I’ll hint at is get ready for a little Thunder Clatter!

Video: My Bonnaroo

18 Jun

It took a week but I was finally able to put my Bonnaroo 2011 photos into a video slide show.  Everything is in sequential order from the moment we arrived until the final show.  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to capture every band I saw but hope you enjoy what I did capture.  Can’t wait until Bonnaroo 2012.  Let the countdown begin.

Countdown to Bonnaroo: 10 Days – Artist of the Day: Mumford & Sons

30 May

I have seen more concerts than I can remember and Mumford & Sons definitely put on one of the best live performances I’ve been witness to.  The sheer excitement and energy the entire band projects when on stage is magical and they take folk music to a whole new level.  They have risen to stardom in the US rapidly and well worth it as anyone who has seen a live performance can testify to.  Mumford & Sons are one of those bands who play with so much passion each and every night that it’s virtually impossible not to be infatuated with them.  Mixing in a few new songs into the set should be expected (“Lover Of The Light,” amazing) as they take Bonnaroo and play in front of their largest audience yet.

Saturday 6:15 PM – 7:45 PM – Which Stage
