Music.Mic: 33 Years Later, Bob Marley Still Speaks for Young People

Great quick read from Music.Mic on the legendary Bob Marley. Click HERE to read the post.

But his solutions were of the biggest and truest variety: If the problems he saw in the world are around to this day, so too are the solutions. He blended the practical and the philosophical. “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds,” he sang on “Redemption Song” (a paraphrase of Marcus Garvey), and he inspired millions to do the same. News: Bono Inspired by Temper Trap for New U2 Albums

11 Jan

Saw the below online and wanted to share as it’s not every day a rock legend like Bono gives praise to a band.  Icouldn’t be happier for the Temper Trap and looking forward to their next album!

From the Herald Sun:

BONO has cited Melbourne band the Temper Trap as an inspiration on the new U2 album.

Talking on the U2.com site to fans, Bono said the band was working on three albums with different musical directions.

“Something really exciting is that finally the rock band is melting into clubland and experimenting with sounds that are not normally deemed authentic for the rock band – synthesizers, experimental sounds – which you can hear in an album by the Temper Trap,” Bono said. “That’s exciting, a new hybrid.”

The Temper Trap, whose hit Sweet Disposition was compared with the sounds of U2, has been recording its second album, due for release mid-year, in LA and London.
