Countdown to Life is Beautiful: Alt-J

Welcome back, Alt-J!  This Is All Yours, the sophomore release from the UK trio drops on September 23 and just in time for Life is Beautiful!  Over the past couple of months the band has been quick to push out singles, “Hunger of the Pine,” “Left Hand Free” and “Every Other Freckle” and all it has done is make me even more excited for this release.  Plus the guys are finally going to play a real show in Vegas (they have played once, about 4 years ago opening for Grouplove, way before they were a household name).  Hope you can make it out to see these guys put on a heck of a show on Saturday, October 25.  Set time and stage information coming soon!

Countdown to Life is Beautiful: The Head and The Heart

The home stretch towards the second Life is Beautiful festival in Downtown Las Vegas, October 24-26. In anticipation, at DoYouHearTheMusic.com I’ll be running down an artist or two on the lineup! If you haven’t gotten your tickets, do so at www.lifeisbeautiful.com and if you have, awesome and I can’t wait to see you!

The Head and The Heart head back to Vegas only for the second time and I couldn’t be more excited to have this band on my lineup. Their first time was back in December 2010 opening for Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds and well before they had released their debut album. It should be quite the show and if you’ve been lucky enough to catch them on tour or at a festival this summer you know they are sounding ridiculously amazing right now.

Fun fact, “These Days Are Numbered” off the album Let’s Be Still was used in the 2014 Life is Beautiful lineup announcement video.

Here we go, the home stretch towards the second Life is Beautiful festival in Downtown Las Vegas, October 24-26. In anticipation, each day at DoYouHearTheMusic.com I’ll be running down an artist or two on the lineup! If you haven’t gotten your tickets, do so at www.lifeisbeautiful.com and if you have, awesome and I can’t wait to see you!

We’ll kick things off with Vegas’ own PANIC! AT THE DISCO. Not only have these kids been kicking ass on tour this summer, they’re returning home to play their biggest Vegas gig ever. It should be quite the spectacle and we can all hope that they pull off their amazing cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

New Music: Jessie Ware – “Say You Love Me”

Just dropped today, new music from Jessie Ware. The track “Say You Love Me” will appear on her new album Tough Love which gets released October 21.

Listen to this song a few times and I think you’ll be listening to it on repeat for at least the rest of the day and probably the rest of this week. At about the 3:10 mark I can just imagine her singing this song live (you’ll understand when you listen) and now I can’t wait to see her in concert.

I can’t wait until August 19, my birthday and the release of Benjamin Booker’s self titled debut release! Happy Birthday to me! If you don’t know, you need to crank up the volume and press play. This year he’s already toured with Jack White and Courtney Barnett as well as making the rounds on the festival circuit this summer and oh man I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this kid. His future is bright. Give a listen and get down with this guitar whiz.

Now Playing: First Aid Kit cover Jack White’s – “Love Interruption”

I was a fan of the Swedish Sisters who make up First Aid Kit since the moment I heard their second album, The Lion’s Roar, became even a bigger fan when I saw them live for the first time and seeing them again this year at Bonnaroo, they were one of my favorite acts at the festival. Needless to say I’m hooked on these girls and after hearing this cover of Jack White’s “Love Interruption” which they performed on Australia’s triple j radio, I am even more in awe of thems. Listen below. Just WOW.

A month ago The Weeknd dropped new music and now I can’t help but keep hitting repeat on this remix of The Weeknd’s that new track, “Often” by the one and only Kygo! Give a listen for yourself and I think you’ll be like me, on repeat. So stoked to have The Weeknd performing at Life is Beautiful in Vegas this October! His first festival in over two years!

WOW! @AsgeirMusic covers @MilkyChance “Stolen Dance”

1. To me, Asgeir is a star in the making. This Icelandic singer-songwriter is absolutely brilliant. He has an incredible voice, beautiful songs and is flawless live.

2. Milky Chance’s song “Stolen Dance” is easily one of my favorite songs of 2014. Quite frankly I’ve fallen in love with the track and listen to it on repeat.

3. Asgeir just covered “Stolen Dance” for triple j and the segment “Like A Version.” Give a listen below and hear for yourself.

4. Come see Asgeir at Life is Beautiful, October 24-26 in Downtown Las Vegas.
