Maybe next year Bonnaroo…….

13 Jun

A little bittersweet start of the day for me as Bonnaroo 2013 is getting underway. That place in Manchester, Tennessee is home to four of the greatest days of the year. And personally I think Thursday is the best day of them all; some of the best performances happen the first day, not everyone has rolled into the grounds, it’s like the first day of school for first time Roovians and a reunion for veterans of Bonnaroo.  As much as I’d love to be there right now, putting together a little Festival called Life is Beautiful headlined by The Killers and Kings of Leon has taken up my time!  Hopefully next year I’ll be back on the farm enjoying the four day pop-up city of happiness in the middle of nowhere. Until then, looks like Bonnaroo 365, Twitter feeds and Facebook updates are what I’m going to be living vicariously through. If you are making the trek to Bonnaroo, enjoy the amazing lineup and say hello for me.

All roads lead to tonight…Life Is Beautiful Lineup Reveal

3 Jun

Two and a half years ago I took a jump into the world of blogging.  I did it so when friends would ask me about music I was listening to, I didn’t have to repeat it time and time again.  I made a hub for all things music that I was into and to share some of my experiences.  That in turn got the attention of a publication in Las Vegas where I was asked to write concert reviews which spiraled into band interviews and then adding two new publications to write stories for.  To tell you that two and a half years later I am just hours away from being able to unveil the first ever lineup for the Life Is Beautiful Festival taking place in Downtown Las Vegas, October 26-27, I can’t even explain the feeling right now.  I was blessed with an opportunity to be Head of Music and Live Performances for the festival and tonight marks one gigantic step towards those dates in October.  Many hours and an incredible team have lead to this moment.  Stay tuned for more info real soon…….

BottleRock Here I Come

9 May

I’m missing the first day of BottleRock Napa Valley today but stoked to be heading up to Napa tomorrow morning with my brother to catch a couple days of the first year, four-day festival. A stacked lineup, plenty of great food and wine in addition to plenty of friends making the trek should make for a fun weekend.

Tomorrow it’s all about The Black Keys, The Shins, Alabama Shakes, Vintage Trouble, The Flaming Lips, Dirty Projectors, Andrew Bird, Matt Nathanson, Blues Traveler and more.  Saturday is definitely a power packed day/night of music with Kings of Leon, Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Iron & Wine, Jackson Browne, Jane’s Addiction, Donavon Frankenreiter, Allen Stone, Dwight Yoakam, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Sharon Van Etten and more!  Sunday brings it with Zac Brown Band, Michael Franti, Grouplove, Cake, Mavis Staples, Train, The Wallflowers, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Brandi Carlile and more.
