It’s a good day for new music so why not share my latest obsession, Thelma Plum. Personally I think you’re going to fall in love with her sweet and soulful sound, just like I did. The 18 year old is the latest gem to blossom out of Australia and I suggest you give a listen to her EP, Rosie, immediately but in the mean time, give a listen below to “Around Here.”

Fireworks, Grilling, Apple Pie, and some good American music sounds just what the doctor ordered this 4th of July and we’re getting things started a night early! The next installment of the Life is Beautiful Downtown Las Vegas Music Showcase is going Americana this Wednesday night as we invade the parking lot at Park on Fremont for an evening of sweet music. Homegrown festival act, Beau Hodges Band will headline a great night of music also featuring Justin Mather, Easy 8’s, Kalsey Kulyk and Megan Barker! Hope you can make it, going to be a fun one! Also if you’re one of the first 50 people in attendance you’ll be able to snag one of these schnazzy posters designed by local artists Hernan Valencia.
If you haven’t been listening to smallpools yet, you need to stat before they become all the rage on the radio. Alt Nation on SiriusXM even just started giving these guys some spins. I came across these guys when I learned they were going on tour this summer with one of my Australian favs, San Cisco, so if you get a chance to catch this show, don’t miss out! Give a listen to “Wake Me Up” which features the soulful Aloe Blacc. This is going to crossover so many different radio formats; I’d so love to see this hit number one on multiple ones.
