Damn, wasn’t expecting this collaboration. Rising star Raury teams up with Tom Morello for his new single, “Friends” which will appear on his debut album, All We Need, due out next month. Also featured on the upcoming release from Atlanta’s wonderkid RZA, Big K.R.I.T. and production from Danger Mouse.

A few years back I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing the band, JJAMZ which was composed of James Valentine (Maroon 5) Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley/Bright Eyes), Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet), Michael Runion, and Z Berg (The Like). Well fast forward to present, omit Valentine from the band and the remaining four renamed the group PHASES and released three new tracks this spring including the below, “I’m In Love With My Life.” #TrueStory

The smooth and sly 25 year old has already been compared to Sam Cooke and Otis Redding with his old-school soul sound and while his studio stuff has all the chops to become album of the year, it’s his live show that will have you weak in the knees.
