I kept promising myself I wouldn’t post today in protest of SOPA but I just can’t neglect the rocking performance by one of my favorite bands, GROUPLOVE on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. While you can, check out the video below to see the band performing “Tongue Tied.”
Tonight: @GROUPLOVE Plays Vegas For FREE
1 NovOk Vegas, here is your reminder so you can’t say “I didn’t know” and miss an incredible show. Tonight make your way to Book & Stage at The Cosmopolitan where GROUPLOVE will be performing at 10 p.m. and midnight. Fresh off the release of their debut album, Never Trust A Happy Song, this quintuplet is a band you’re going to want to say you saw way back when. These guys were my highlight of Lollapalooza, blowing me away more than their EP I had been listening to on repeat all summer. Not only do they have a great sound but their story is damn cool too. Check out what I wrote back in June for the skinny on the band.
So let’s recap, GROUPLOVE performing for FREE tonight (and tomorrow) at Book & Stage inside The Cosmopolitan at 10 p.m. and midnight. Got it? Good. See you there!
Video: GROUPLOVE – “Lovely Cup” Official Video
6 Oct
If you follow the blog you know I am a huge fan of GROUPLOVE and I wanted to share the official video for “Lovely Cup” which is my favorite song off Never Trust A Happy Song. Love that the video showcases the band during an array of gigs to capture the energy and excitment they bring to each and every show.
New Music: GROUPLOVE
28 JunAnother band I’ve been getting into recently and perfect for summer is GROUPLOVE. Based out of LA but formed out of one wild musical summer on the island of Crete, members hail from Brooklyn, Los Angeles and London. From the first listen to their self titled EP it was as if I was already familiar with the sound and heard these songs before. Each of the six-tracks on the EP present a dynamic indie-rock and pop sound with crisp guitars, solid drums and sheer joy but it is Christian Zucconi’s vocals that stand out and impress me the most. I still can’t pin his voice to who it reminds me of exactly but it captivates you (perhaps a blend of Todd Shaeffer of From Good Homes and Issac Brock of Modest Mouse?).
Fresh off playing the legendary Glastonbury Festival, GROUPLOVE, are touring outside the states but return for gigs at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands this summer. If you’re going to one or both, don’t miss their show; you’ll want to see them before their debut release, Never Trust A Happy Song, drops this September.
