The countdown to Life is Beautiful Festival continues and today is a ZZ Ward kinda day. If you aren’t familiar with ZZ Ward you have less than three weeks to fix that. The fast rising singer/songwriter had her first stint in Las Vegas playing Book & Stage about a year and a half ago and now she returns on the big stage.

30 JulAt the beginning of June we released the initial lineup for Life is Beautiful; The Killers, Kings of Leon, Beck, Imagine Dragons, Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Jurassic 5 and a whole lot more. But what we also promised was more artists would be announced and thus here we are. Today we announced the additions of Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, Janelle Monae, Cults, Joey Bada$$, Smith Westerns, Nico Vega, The Dig, Dreamers as well as the first details of a collaboration with Red Bull Sound Select to feature artists Wildcat! Wildcat!, Chancellor Warhol, The Kingston Springs, Children of the Night and Tink. If you haven’t yet checked out the brand new Red Bull Sound Select, you need to get on that like yesterday. So many great artists and an incredible platform for them to blossom through. As for Life is Beautiful, I hope y’all like the lineup and that I will see you October 26-27 in Downtown Las Vegas for an incredible two days! More details to come (soon) but in the meantime, how about a little dance party to get this Tuesday going from Ms. Janelle Monae.

Life is Beautiful #DTLVMS Wednesday at Park on Fremont
2 JulFireworks, Grilling, Apple Pie, and some good American music sounds just what the doctor ordered this 4th of July and we’re getting things started a night early! The next installment of the Life is Beautiful Downtown Las Vegas Music Showcase is going Americana this Wednesday night as we invade the parking lot at Park on Fremont for an evening of sweet music. Homegrown festival act, Beau Hodges Band will headline a great night of music also featuring Justin Mather, Easy 8’s, Kalsey Kulyk and Megan Barker! Hope you can make it, going to be a fun one! Also if you’re one of the first 50 people in attendance you’ll be able to snag one of these schnazzy posters designed by local artists Hernan Valencia.

13 JunA little bittersweet start of the day for me as Bonnaroo 2013 is getting underway. That place in Manchester, Tennessee is home to four of the greatest days of the year. And personally I think Thursday is the best day of them all; some of the best performances happen the first day, not everyone has rolled into the grounds, it’s like the first day of school for first time Roovians and a reunion for veterans of Bonnaroo. As much as I’d love to be there right now, putting together a little Festival called Life is Beautiful headlined by The Killers and Kings of Leon has taken up my time! Hopefully next year I’ll be back on the farm enjoying the four day pop-up city of happiness in the middle of nowhere. Until then, looks like Bonnaroo 365, Twitter feeds and Facebook updates are what I’m going to be living vicariously through. If you are making the trek to Bonnaroo, enjoy the amazing lineup and say hello for me.
