Here we go, the home stretch. I totally spaced on Day 12 of the countdown so we’ll just fast forward to Day 11 and an artist on the rise, Detroit MC, Danny Brown. I really hope you all take the time to see him perform, I promise it will be worth it. And if you dig a little deeper you’ll see he’s collaborated with a few Life is Beautiful artists, including Portugal. The Man and Purity Ring.

How about some new music from The Killers on this Music Monday?! Give a listen to “Shot At The Night,” a collaboration between The Killers and M83′s Anthony Gonzalez. You can read more from Consequence of Sound HERE but this single is part of Direct Hits, a greatest hits album from The Killers as they celebrate their 10th anniversary.  The album is due out November 11. 

Here’s hoping they perform this during their headlining set at Life is Beautiful October 26-27 in Downtown Las Vegas!

Love this. Two of my Life is Beautiful performers on one track! Check out this Portugal. The Man “Purple Yellow Red & Blue” remix by Passion Pit. The original track is awesome by itself (PTM performed it live on Conan last night) but this electrofied version in contagious. Listen and repeat! Cannot wait until October!

ESPN NBA Song Reimagined via The Mowgli’s, Ozomatli, The Heavy and more

Ok, this is simply awesome and a must listen. Props to ESPN for gathering up eight musicians/bands to remix the long standing NBA theme song that goes along with the broadcast on the sports mothership. Click HERE to access the link and view remixes which includes The Mowgli’s, Ozomatli (always fun to hear them do sports remixes, search “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”) and The Heavy. You vote and the winner gets their version played during the NBA All Star Game this year.
