New Music: Childish Gambino – “Bonfire”

19 Sep

He was one of my favorite performers at Bonnaroo and now that he just signed to Glassnote Records, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover is already dropping some new tracks.  Give a listen to “Bonfire” and hear for yourself.  Also I don’t know if it’s just me but at times the beat sounds like Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot.” Can’t wait for the album!

Now Playing: The Joy Formidable and Catch Them Tonight, Vegas!

15 Sep

While it still kills me to not be heading to ACL this weekend, back here in Vegas I’ll still be doing my fair share of celebrating and it all kicks off tonight with The Joy Formidable.   Stoked about this show and now that the temps are cooling, should be an awesome night for an outdoor show at The Cosmopolitan.

Check out this video from Lollapalooza and I’ll see you at the show!

New Music: Kassidy

14 Sep

Here it is my latest musical fascination, Kassidy.  This Scottish folk rock band has been tabbed across the pond by some media outlets as “Britain’s Kings of Leon” and fall into line with the rabid folk obsession of Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes and the likes but they have their own distinct sound and that to me is refreshing.  Their debut album Hope St. dropped earlier this year and I don’t think it will take too much longer for this quartet to wind up here in the states.

Now Playing: Uncle Mountain – “False Alarm”

13 Sep

Been digging these guys from Asheville, NC since I stumbled upon their music last month.  Give a listen and if you like, pick up the new album Miles of Skyline.

Now Playing: SuperHeavy – “Miracle Worker”

8 Sep

I don’t know about anybody else but I can’t wait for this disc to come out later this month.

Stream Now: GROUPLOVE – Never Trust A Happy Song

7 Sep

Hands down my favorite show at Lollapalooza, GROUPLOVE gets set to drop Never Trust A Happy Song next week and thanks to SPIN Magazine, you can stream the album live right now.  Click HERE to start streaming.
