Five For Friday: Gold Fields, A Slient Film, Royal Teeth, SXSW, O.A.R., Allen Stone, Andrew McMahon and more

- If you are in Las Vegas tonight there is a rocking show set to take place at the Hard Rock Cafe on The Strip. Gold Fields, A Silent Film and Royal Teeth share the billing. Local band, American Cream opens the show at 8:30 p.m. If you want to hear some of the rising bands in music today, I highly encourage you to check this show out.
- Speaking of shows, there are a ton of SXSW artists rolling through town on their way to Austin. Beauty Bar has a solid lineup which includes David Wax Museum on Saturday evening. Also downtown tomorrow night is the Vegas Streats two-year anniversary party. Going to be a fun one!
- O.A.R. dropped dates on their upcoming summer tour which includes a powerful set of opening acts in Allen Stone and Andrew McMahon (Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate).
- Hangout Music Festival quietly added their third headliner, Stevie Wonder
- Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 7 as the next Life Is Beautiful Downtown Las Vegas Music Showcase takes place at Commonwealth.
MUST WATCH: The Avett Brothers on Jimmy Fallon
7 MarLast night the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon episode (from February 22) featuring The Avett Brothers was re-aired and if you didn’t catch it either time on the tube, you must watch this killer performance. And if you’ve never seen them live I highly suggest you change that in 2013.

Justin Timberlake, Marcus Mumford Collaborate on Coen Brothers’ Soundtrack
Justin Timberlake and Mumford & Sons frontman Marcus Mumford collaborated on a song that will appear in the upcoming Coen brothers’ film Inside Llewyn Davis, MTV UK reports.
Timberlake – who appears in the movie, along with Mumford’s wife, Carey Mulligan – revealed the news during an interview with the UK radio station Capital FM, saying: “Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don’t know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun.”

24 FebLast night was one of those nights of live music you wish you could experience on a nightly basis. If you happened to be one of the roughly 500 people inside Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, you were treated to an evening of real rock and roll. Beware of Darkness, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, great to see these two perform again and wow some new fans. Rival Sons, seriously brought it last night, 10 minutes shy of two straight hours. A tip of the hat gentlemen on a great show! My review of Rival Sons will be in the next issue of Vegas SEVEN but until then, check out these photos from my friend, Erik Kabik.
Deap Vally cover Jake Bugg’s “Lightning Bolt”
22 FebDeap Vally, a duo that if you haven’t listened to before, you better get on ’em because they are going to become a household name very soon. Give a listen to the Cali duo’s “Gonna Make My Own Money” and you’ll get an idea why! Anyways, they’re over in the UK and performed live last night on BBC Radio 1 and here’s a video of them covering Jake Bugg’s “Lightning Bolt.”
