24 Aug

Can’t believe it’s already the end of summer?  Neither can I but the good news is it doesn’t really have to end.  So since I put up Summer Playlist Vol.I back in June, here are a bunch more songs and bands that have been powering me through the summer.  Once again this is available via my Spotify profile so unfortunately some songs and bands have been left off (blame them, not me).  Hope you enjoy and find some good tunes to really make this an endless summer!

New Music: Jukebox The Ghost – Safe Travels

26 Jul

Three words: Jukebox The Ghost

Who? An amazing band from DC that you need to be listening to ASAP if you are not already

What?  A trio who has been together for nearly a decade but has recently found success in the last few years and especially this summer with Safe Travels

Why you should listen? Their new album brings a contagious indie-pop sound through your speakers and will have you tapping your feet in no time

A reason you’ll be excited?  Listen to the songs “Somebody” and “Say When” and it will all make sense and if you are heading to Outside Lands in a couple weeks, the fellas are playing on Friday

Why I’m excited: Because it’s just flat out awesome music and I put them on my Summer Playlist Vol.I last month

If you like to listen to: Jack’s Mannequin, Sleeper Agent, The Lonely Forest, Ben Folds, GROUPLOVE, and why not, Billy Joel.

Final thoughts:  For the last month plus I have been kicking myself for not even realizing they were performing at Café Where at Bonnaroo this year!  I can’t believe I missed this one, especially since I started listening to them the week following and haven’t been able to stop since

DoYouHearTheMusic.com Guest Blogs on DaynaRoselli.com

18 Jul

Music fans, check it out. My friend Dayna asked me to be a guest blogger on her new blog and without hesitation I said yes and of course wrote about music!  I’ve known Dayna for years, going all the way back to my days working with nightclubs and the countless red carpets.  She was was most recently the Morning News Co-Anchor at KLAS-TV (CBS) in Las Vegas, Nevada and has more than 15 years of experience reporting and anchoring local, national, and world news and entertainment.  Big things are to come for her in the future and I’m just happy to call her my friend.

As for my post which you can read HERE, it includes my thoughts on Frankie Moreno’s show at the Stratosphere and some summer tunes you need to be listening to.

Mumford & Sons Present: Gentlemen of the Road

29 May

I swear Mumford & Sons are geniuses.  Last time out it was the Railroad Revival Tour and this year it’s Gentlemen of the Road.  Straight from the fellas:

Join us this summer for a series of Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers at handpicked locations around the world. Each Stopover is a day-long event, celebrating the music, food and people of the places we’re visiting. We’ll be bringing a full lineup of some of our favorite bands from around the world, and curating events that combine a music festival and local gathering into one epic party. We plan to start early, and go late, taking the party from the stage to the town.

Please come join us if you can. It’ll be a whole lot of fun.

New Music: Sublime with Rome ft. Wiz Khalifa – “Can You Feel It”

29 Jun

Putting the finishing touches on what should be a killer summer playlist and I figure why not tease it a little with this new track, “Can You Feel It” from Sublime with Rome featuring Wiz Khalifa. Also Sublime with Rome are getting set to drop their album Yours Truly, July 12.

New Music: Cults

27 Jun

The last few weeks I have been giving Cults‘ self titled album a bunch of spins and it keeps growing on me more and more. The Brooklyn duo have a retro indie-pop sound that is very soothing and perfect chill disc for the summer. Want another reason to listen, they are going on tour with Foster The People this fall.

New Music: Mazes – “Summer Hits”

20 Jun

The latest band from across the pond I’m digging these days, Mazes.  Straight from their debut album A Thousand Heys comes the release today of their single “Summer Hits.”  Give a listen and maybe this will make it onto your summer playlist. Also check them out on tour in the States this summer with White Denim!
