In case you missed it, check out The Lumineers performing on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. They absolutely killed it! Thrilled to see that they are continuing to rise (album is in Billboard Top 10) and that “Stubborn Love” is finally getting the airplay and attention it deserves. Nearly a year ago I first featured them on the blog and here we are just a few weeks away from seeing if they can take home a GRAMMY Award!
Any music history buff will want to take the next two minutes to watch the official trailer for Muscle Shoals, a music documentary appearing at Sundance this weekend.
Anyone have thoughts on 12.12.12. The Concert for Sandy Relief? It truly was a magical evening of rock royalty and one that was viewed by two billion people! So many great and memorable performances including this one of Chris Martin and Michael Stipe.
Click HERE to check out some awesome photos from TIME Magazine too.
In one day nearly 600,000 hits for the late Bob Ross (oh yeah, everyone’s favorite afro sporting “happy little trees” artist) of PBS, remixed.
The best part is this was commissioned by PBS! “Bob Ross remixed by Symphony of Science’s John D. Boswell for PBS Digital Studios.” Happy Friday y’all!
How rad is this, to honor the late, great Levon Helm, The Black Keys welcomed John Fogerty to the stage during their Coachella Weekend 2 set to perform The Band’s “The Weight.”
I remember when I first read about the Railroad Revival Tour last year, I kept wishing I could attend one of the shows and just how much loved the concept of Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show traversing the west coast by train. Even cooler was learning the whole journey was being filmed for a documentary which bring us to the below. Enjoy!
In anticipation of their upcoming release on RCA Records, I got very excited when I found out Walk The Moon will be releasing a three song Anna Sun EP next Tuesday, February 7. The EP will feature the hit song, “Anna Sun,” off their independently released i want i want, “Next in Line” and Tightrope” which quite frankly I believe is their best song (and it’s hard not to love “Anna Sun”).
The quartet are mighty talented, bring a ton of energy to the stage every night and there’s a reason they were tabbed as one of MTVs Artists to Watch in 2012. I’ve been fortunate to have seen the guys perform at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and in Las Vegas as well as interview them and all I can say is you are sorely missing out if you are not listening to Walk The Moon.
Another thing to look forward to besides their upcoming tours with Young The Giant and some dates with the Kaiser Chiefs, is their first-ever live performance on late night television April 5 on Late Night wth Jimmy Fallon. Oh man I can’t wait to see if ?uestlove is going to rock the face paint with the fellas.
